Summer Composting Guidelines

1. Do not overfeed the worms- If you think they have too much food in the bin at any one time, you are probably right!
2. Check the Temperature- Be sure to remove the temperature guage before adding new food scraps. The box is at it's best temperature in the mid 70's. If it gets above 80 degrees F or dips below 50 degrees F, call Mr. Bergmann.
3. What to feed the worms- If it comes from the ground, it can go back into the ground. The best food to feed them is fruits and veggies. Bread is ok sometimes, but let's stay away from it for now.
